The
revolving turret carrying the rings held on workholders,
is automatically lowered into the polishing media.

To
ensure a uniform polish the turret is programmed to
periodically reverse direction.

Process
times are typically 60 to 90 minutes.

There
are five machines in the range, from 12 to 140 litre
capacity.
-
The top of the range DF 140 will
carry ten workholders, each holding a minimum of forty
rings, thus polishing 400 rings per cycle and upwards
of 3000 rings per day.

Rings
to be polished are normally loaded into the workholders
at the workbench
-
Workholders
are clicked into quick release chucks on the underside
of the turret.
-
The
computer programme is set to lower the revolving turret
for polishing to begin.
-
At
the end of the cycle, the workholders are released and
replaced by another set.
-
Within
5 minutes polishing has restarted and the polished rings
can be removed from the workholders.
